The following is a testimony from reknowned saxophonist Peter King, who recently switched from playing a Selmer Mk 6 to the Yanagisawa A9932Z. It feels very comfortable to play, the action is superb and most of all the sound quality is amazing! I think the metallurgy of this particular model is probably the reason for this, coupled with the design of the neck, body and bell.
I am very happy with the projection, the quality, the evenness and power of the sound it makes. I find I can blow very hard and the horn will take everything I put into it, as well as responding well to gentle blowing. I am able to play in every register with the same ease and control, whether at pp or fff.
I have never had an alto respond as well as this before. I tried my Selmer Mk 6 one day and it was not nearly as good. This is a big surprise, as I have always felt my Mk 6 was the only horn I would ever be able to play! Specifications
