Composer: Franz Krommer (1759 - 1831) Franz Vinzenz Krommer ranks as one of the most successful of the Bohemian musicians to work in Vienna in the late eighteenth and the early nineteenth centuries. Together with his wind concertos, his many works for wind ensemble constitute the most popular part of his oeuvre. The special appeal of Krommer's wind partitas lies in the directness of its musical language, which, especially in the catchiness of the tunes, is an expression of a musician's spontaneous intuition and instinctive musical feelings. 1.
