David Agnew - Oboe
"Oboe" is David's first classical release and he has this to say about the oboe and his new CD.
"I see the oboe not as an instrument but as an emotion, a cry from the heart. If I have a message to impart through my music it is this: The beauty of the Oboe is to be found in the simple purity of sound and melody. I try to play in a way that is at once poignant, spiritual, beautiful, gentle and melodic but always true to the music. All of these classical pieces have been my own particular favourites for many years and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to record them. I hope you enjoy my humble efforts."
"Oboe" is a collection of some of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written, including "The Swan", "The World Largo", "Rain" by Vivaldi, "Jesu Joy" by Bach, Albinoni's "Adagio", "Handel's Largo" and many more.
