Trouble Penetrator
A Taste of Trouble Penetrator

Formed in 2001, Trouble Penetrator features some of Dublin's most exciting musical visionaries playing music that combines the excitement of digitally mutated, jumpcut electronic music with the savage power of the combo's human musicians. Their current repertoire consists of original material, augmented by a variety of cover versions, heavily reinterpreted, and regurgitated via their charmingly warped aesthetic.

The lyrics of She Wants Punished Part 7.
Originally written when I was on a CE scheme in Finglas called The Fusebox. The Fusebox was putting out a compilation CD of different stuff. I wanted to do a track with lyrics because all the other people's stuff had lyrics. At the time Mary Harney was trying to force people off the live register by sending FAS detectives around, enquiring about what efforts you'd made to find work and why don't you take this job at McDonalds? Clearly she needed punished. Anyway I recorded a version of She Wants Punished using an 8 track tape machine and an Atari ST computer and it went on the compilation which was called Kung-fused.

Lonely Woman (Ornette Coleman)
This has been in our set from the start, we used to play a sort of Naked City version of this Ornette Coleman tune. This was going to have a much more involved arrangement on the album but suddenly it seemed fine as it was.

It's Reassuring to Know They Can Really Play
I overheard somebody say this at a free improvisation gig when one of the musicians cracked off some high speed bebop licks while setting up and I thought it was really funny.

Trouble Penetrator are:

Justin Carroll keyboards
Brian Wynne tenor sax
Simon Milligan turntables
Sean Carpio drums
Roy Carroll computer
